14 people have died and an additional 12 have been injured in a Saturday night Accident

On Saturday, February 4, a fatal accident took place at 10pm involving an Isuzu truck carrying 26 passengers and other cargo. Tragically, 14 passengers died instantly and the remaining 12 suffered injuries and were taken to Lodwar County and Referral Hospital for medical attention. The police reported that the truck was en route to Kakuma and encountered a camel crossing the road from left to right at Kakwamunyen.
Sadly, the weight of the passengers and goods on the Isuzu truck caused the driver to lose control, leading to the vehicle overturning and landing in a ditch on the right side of the road.
This resulted in injuries to the passengers and significant damage to the truck. The deceased, including eight adult females, three adult males, and three male minors, were taken to the mortuary for preservation. The truck was towed to the Lodwar Police Station for further inspection and investigation into the cause of the accident.
