At least 40 confirmed dead, scores injured as trains collide

A fatal train collision in central Greece has left at least 40 people dead and 66 injured, with rescue workers searching for survivors among the wreckage.
The accident occurred on Tuesday evening when a passenger train carrying over 350 passengers collided head-on with a freight train near Larissa in Tempi.
The majority of those involved in the accident were young, and identification of victims is currently underway. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President Katerina Sakellaropoulou have responded to the incident.
