Tahmeed bus bursts into flames with 42 passengers on board
On Saturday afternoon, a Mombasa-bound bus operated by Tahmeed Bus was completely destroyed by fire on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway in Voi, Taita-Taveta County.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 pm and thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
"One of the passengers was alighting then people started shouting telling us our bus was on fire. We quickly disembarked but unfortunately, we could not save anything," said Abdala Salim, a passenger.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but investigations are underway to determine the source. The incident has caused major traffic disruptions on the busy highway, with a section of the road closed to allow emergency services to respond.
